Adding safety to LASIK/LASEK Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking

CXL strengthens the bonds within the cornea during or after surgery, delivering safer surgical outcomes. It is especially beneficial for high myopia and patients concerned about keratoconus, and it is equally effective for those worried about myopic regression.

Strengthening corneal bonds for enhanced stability

  • Anyone who wants the safest possible surgery
  • High-myopia patients requiring extensive corneal ablation
  • Anyone concerned about post-op myopic regression
  • Patients with thin corneas
  • Patients with a family history of keratoconus

Benefits of CXL

  • A stronger cornea helps prevent the rare risk of post-op corneal ectasia.
  • Significantly reduces the likelihood of post-op myopic regression.
  • Expands surgical eligibility for patients with high myopia or thin corneas.
  • Helps slow the progression of keratoconus.

Safety of CXL

  • Approved and performed in 50+ countries worldwide
  • EU CE mark certified
  • Numerous papers published through US and European societies

Procedure

  1. Apply riboflavin (vitamin B2) solution to the cornea.

  2. After about 60 seconds, rinse off the riboflavin solution.

  3. The riboflavin solution is absorbed into the corneal tissue.

  4. The laser precisely irradiates the corneal center.

  5. UV-A is applied to the cornea for about 30–60 seconds.

  6. Recovery after the procedure

Available alongside vision correction surgery, or even afterward.

Performed together with LASIK / LASEK

  • Immediately after LASIK/LASEK, an appropriate dose of riboflavin (vitamin B2) solution is applied together with a UV-A laser based on the patient's condition.
  • The procedure follows established protocols regarding the appropriate riboflavin solution dosage and UV-A laser exposure duration.

Already had surgery?

  • The same procedure can be performed on patients who have already undergone surgery.
  • Riboflavin dosage and UV-A exposure are tailored to the patient's eye condition to reinforce corneal bonds.

※ Depending on the eye's post-op condition, symptoms such as night glare, dry eye, myopic regression, or keratoconus may occur. Please consult a specialist before proceeding.
