At the request of the Da Nang City People’s Committee, the Korea Disabled Veterans Organization provided medical support to residents of Peace Village over two days, November 4 and 5.

Peace Village is home to approximately 180 residents, including second- and third-generation victims of Agent Orange exposure during the Vietnam War, people who lost limbs due to landmines and other wartime injuries, patients with serious or mild disabilities, and orphaned children.

This was the first medical support mission held since Peace Village’s administrative jurisdiction was transferred from the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee to the Da Nang City People’s Committee in July 2025.

The Da Nang City People’s Committee expressed its appreciation to the Korea Disabled Veterans Organization for helping establish Peace Village and for continuing to provide annual medical support for the past 15 years.

The committee also noted that several similar social welfare facilities are located throughout Da Nang and requested that the medical support program be expanded to include additional facilities.

In response, the Korea Disabled Veterans Organization stated that it would positively review the request and gradually expand its medical outreach efforts.

A total of eight healthcare professionals participated in the mission. The team included medical staff from the Veterans Health Service Medical Center, the Gwangju Veterans Hospital, and JC BITSOMANG EYE CLINIC in Yeouido.

Representing JC BITSOMANG EYE CLINIC, Dr. Gyung Bai Choi joined the mission to provide ophthalmic care and medical support to local residents.
