The 80th Medical Mission: Solomon Islands

From May 23 to May 30, 2026, the JC BITSOMANG EYE CLINIC Medical Mission Team traveled to the Solomon Islands to carry out its 80th overseas medical mission.

The medical team and volunteers departed from Incheon International Airport and arrived in the Solomon Islands after a journey of approximately 17 hours and 40 minutes.

The team provided ophthalmic examinations and surgical treatment at National Referral Hospital, one of the country’s leading medical institutions.

This medical mission was organized to provide better access to eye care for residents in underserved communities and to help prevent blindness and restore vision.

Many local patients had gone without proper treatment for extended periods due to limited access to medical services. The medical team carefully evaluated each patient’s condition and worked diligently to provide the best possible care.

During the mission, the team successfully performed surgeries on a total of 54 eyes.

The bright smiles of patients who were able to see the world clearly again brought tremendous joy and a profound sense of fulfillment to the medical team.

JC BITSOMANG EYE CLINIC will continue its medical mission work to bring light and hope to people in need around the world.
