SEOUL — The Seoul Branch of the Korean Disabled Veterans Association, headed by Koo Bon-uk, held the nation’s first medical cooperation agreement ceremony for veterans’ families and young wounded veterans on Thursday, April 14, in a fourth-floor conference room at the Seoul Veterans Hall.
The agreement was arranged in the hope that the partnership with the participating hospitals would provide veterans’ families with a greater sense of pride and recognition. It was also designed to reduce the financial burden on wounded veterans while they await an eligibility determination from the veterans affairs authorities.
Cooperation agreements were signed with five hospitals. For orthopedic care, the participating regional hospitals were 9988 Hospital in Seongdong-gu for eastern Seoul, Gangseo Himchan Hospital in Gangseo-gu for western Seoul, and Seoul Segyero Hospital in Songpa-gu for southern Seoul.
For ophthalmology and internal medicine services, the association signed an agreement with JC Bitsomang Eye and Internal Medicine Clinic, located in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, central Seoul.
The association also signed an agreement with Geumgang Long-Term Care Hospital in Incheon to provide care for veterans’ families and wounded veterans requiring long-term medical or nursing support.
