Step A
After topical anesthesia is administered, the XEN injector is advanced through the anterior chamber.

Step B
The injector is advanced through the sclera toward the subconjunctival space.

Step C
The XEN Gel Stent is deployed into the subconjunctival space.

Step D
The stent is positioned precisely to allow aqueous humor to flow into the subconjunctival space.

Although complications are relatively uncommon, possible risks include subconjunctival hemorrhage, hyphema, infection, fibrosis of the filtering bleb, conjunctival injury, and stent displacement. Additional treatment or surgical revision may be required if any of these complications occur.
