Uljin County Medical Center, headed by Director Shim Jae-wook, and Seoul-based JC Bitsomang Eye Clinic, led by Dr. Gyung Bai Choi, signed a medical partnership agreement on August 12.
The agreement aims to promote the health of local residents by facilitating exchanges between medical professionals and establishing a cooperative healthcare system between the two institutions.
The two institutions first established a relationship through volunteer recovery efforts following the damage caused by Typhoon Mitag in the Uljin area the previous year. Since then, they have explored ways to provide meaningful support to local residents.
Through this medical partnership, patients with conditions such as blocked tear ducts, who previously had to travel outside the region for surgery, will now be able to undergo treatment in Uljin.
